Vice President, Investment Research NA, Heitman
Mike is a Vice President in Heitman’s 18-person Investment Research group. He is responsible for all US medical office and apartment sector research. In this role he conducts analysis of trends in demographics, macroeconomics, capital markets and property market fundamentals in order to form investment strategies. Heitman manages a portfolio of 62 medical office buildings totaling over 3.9 million square feet and more than $2 billion in value. Mike has been responsible for the Heitman’s MOB investment research for the past 6 years, during which time the firm has made over $2.4 billion worth of investments into the sector. Prior to joining Heitman, Mike’s roles included work in urban planning and real estate finance consulting. Mike started his career in the finance department of Burton Snowboards in Burlington, VT. Mike received an MS in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a BS in Business Administration from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and sits on the Research Committee of the National Multifamily Housing Council.
